Can't get desktop mode to work

I was wondering If there was any reason that my player will not switch into desktop mode. I had it working before but upgraded machines with a much more powerful Video card. I was wondering if there was a codec I was missing or something. thanks.

Try another setting of "Use overlay" in "Options"/"Preferences"/"Video"
