How to split subtitle for 2 CDs

I have downloaded some subtitles from the internet after I read some posts in this forum. The subtilte displayed fine in both BSplayer and zoom player pro, however, I don't know how to split it into 2 CDs. It has a .sub extension but it doesn't contain a idx file with it. Though it displayed fine with bsplayer, but vobsub cutter doesn't allow me to split the file without a idx file. And I have no idea which software they use to create that subtitle file, since the file size is really small (58k) compare to the usual subtitle file I created with Vobsub. Does anyone has any idea how to do that?

It is a text based subtitle. I use Subadjust to manage subtitles. But you can search topics and find other subtitle tools. They are very easy to use.

you put the subtitle file on both cds ( the same file with all the subtitles!! )
then in the .bsi file for the 2nd cd in [Subtitiles]
StartTime=the time 2nd cd starts
for 1st cd StartTime=00:00:00

it should work if you don't know about .bsi files check in the bsplayer install directory -> doc\ini_files.html

Alternatively you can split it easily using Notepad and e.g. Vladimir's "SubSync". This simple and easy to use freeware utility covers .smi .srt and/or .sub format subtitles.
You can find it at http://users.pandora.be/vlad/subsync/index.htm
On this website is also some documentation of how to use it.
:wink:
Tip:
Leave the subtitlefile complete for the first CD (doesn't matter if the file is longer than the move) only check where the second part should start and create (e.g. in Notepad) a second file containing only the second part. Then use SubSync on that second part to adjust timings.
:wink:
