Upon opening video files, my computer shuts down

I'm currently using k-lite's latest codec pack that includes the latest verson of BS player, everytime I open certain video files, my computer shuts completely off and restarts, I don't get an error or anything, it seems to be random videos that I download, but the same ones ALWAYS do it. Any idea what could be causing it?

Could you check with e.g. GSpot (see 2nd item of Help to Help (link at bottom)) what type of movie-file (compression used) it concerns and let us know?
(Do the same files play in another player?)
