ready for a bit o' the ultraviolence

I got a couple of xvid movies..tried to play them using BSPlayer with no suiccess..Clockwork Orange gives me an error message and shuts down the player; 2001:A Space Odyssey gives me sound but no picture. GSpot says the files are good and I have compatible codecs installed. Under Video I have three codecs listed: DivX 3.11, DivX 4+, and FFDshow. But they're all grayed out and I can't edit there properties. Need some serious help please. If you love Kubrick as much as I do, you know what a terrible situation I'm in :( Thank you!!!

FYI: filters can be accessed (movie must be loaded) through:
rightclick (on movie-window or contol panel) > Options > Filters > Advanced ... etc.

If you need any codecs, see adicoto's list of codecs
