Using BSPlayer on notebook - general questions

Hi, I want to use BSPlayer on my notebook while on a plane (without power outlet). So far, the best option to extend the battery life is to encode my DVDs to DivX and then load them on the HD. Is it possible to pre-load the entire file on memory so I/O to the HD is minimal ? Is there a setting in BSPlayer that forces the player to buffer 256 or 300 MB on memory ?
Any other tips to reduce CPU / HD / battery comsumption ?
Thanks !
Christian.
