codec question

Hello,

I use gspot in order to know what is the codec used by a movie.
For some of them, BSplayer don't work and gspot is unable to say what is the codec used.
How can I know the codec needed so I can install it ?

Does I have to install a pack of codecs ? If yes, what is the more recent one ?

Thanks,

As mentioned in my Help2Help-post (read the items 4 & 5), in both the official and unofficial F.A.Q.-pages and in adicoto's list of codecs:
P L E A S E . D O N ' T . U S E . C O D E C P A C K S

If GSpot (or Avicodec) cannot tell you what codec is used, try if the file plays with e.g. WMP (or another player) and what info that player can give you. (What is the file-extension?)

And posting the exact message of BSPlayer's error will be also a great help.
