What good is "Desktop Mode" if.......

Desktop mode would be absolutely amazing if it wou djust stay under my taskbar and icons. It works fine and then when the video ends instead of staying under the icons and such, or even restoring to the small window, instead it does the worst thing of all and goes into fullscreen mode and hids all of my icons, taskbar ect. This makes desktop mode pretywell useless. It's best practical application is for internet video browsing and if I have to doubleclick the fullscreen after the video is done than I may aswell doubleclick the player to go fullscreen in the first place. I dont belive there is a setting I am missing but if there is please lemme know.
