Black screen in BSplayer video window on my TV Hello, I'm posting here because my TV doesn't show video image in BSplayer. I've used the TV-Out from my video card to connect to my TV. My only problem is that when I run a movie with BSplayer the player's window is just black :( Technically, I know it has something to do with the Rendering Mode in Video Rendering option window, so I've tried changing the rendering mode. The only modes that manage to show the video image in BSplayer on TV are VMR9 and VMR9 renderless. In VMR9 the subtitle is not shown at all (neither on TV or my computer) and in VMR9 renderless (Mode 1 or 2) the subtitle or any other writting (such as the volume, when you change it) is shown exaggeratedly large. Why doesn't the default rendering mode work for TV? Info on my computer: I am using the latest version of BSplayer right now (2.00 build 937), but this problem occured with a lot of versions before this one. I'm sorry I can't remember with which one all this started. All I can tell you is that when I want to watch movies on TV I use a very old version (0.86 build 497). Intel Pentium 4 at 2.4Ghz 2x256MB DDRAM Kingston 128MB GeForce FX5500 video card |
Re: Black screen in BSplayer video window on my TV Most recent version is v2.10.939  Have you tried to see if the video card (GeForce FX5500) has options related to its TV Out feature (I think you can reach the GeForce video properties also from Windows control panel)? Maybe try also to change the output resolution to your TV (or enable the Changeresolution in BSplayer general settings...) |
Have you also tried to download latest drivers for your card? Anyway in your video card properties maybe you can search for a "Draw to overlay surface" option whn ouputting to TV Out channel... |
its has to b a setting in bsplayer, i just get a black screen for bsplayer on my tv but i cant watch movies threw quicktime. anyone got some input on this? |
I get the same problem too. Bsplayer used to work fine for me and now I only get the audio with a black screen when playing anything. I reinstalled it and same problem. |
Most probably you have a codec problem.. For quicktime videos try to install QuickTime Alternative ( www.free-codecs-com ) Use GSpot (or MediaInfo) to see which codec you need to play your movies |

Geforce/Nvidia or ATI card? Using (nView) Clone mode or Ati's theater mode or ...? http://bsplayer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=26595#26595 http://bsplayer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=25019#25019  |
I had the same problem: any picture is visible except the video displayed by BSPlayer. It's a video rendering problem. I have solved it that way: BSPlayer -> Options -> Preferences -> Video -> "Video rendering" tab -> "Rendering mode" combo -> "Internal renderer RGB code" selected. That's all. Cheers, uglyduck |
I installed a higher end video card to be able to play movies on either my tv a monitor or a projector. On the video card settings I have it set to CLONE mode. In clone mode the monitor selected as the primary monitor (in the video card settings) displays the video and sound while the monitor which is not selected plays the sound and displays a black screen. Either screen displays the desktop and I can work in the porgrams on either screen. AND the video won't display on the monitor not selected. No idea if this has anything to do with your problem, it's just that the black screen thing happens in this dual monitor situation. Are you in clone mode AND is the monitor your using BS player on designated as the primary monitor? |
