Vorbis decoder

is BSPlayer build-in Vorbis decoder good? or is it better to use FFDShow to decode Vorbis and in this case which is better; libavcodec or tremor?

Re: Vorbis decoder

I have never made it to work and don't care much :).

Use libavcodec (for Mkv) or Thomas Waldvogel's demultiplexer together with its decoder (for Ogm).

The only reason why you wouldn't want to use ffdshow is because its big and introduces a delay while loading. This does not matter for movies, only for OGG Vorbis music.

i got error with libavcodec, tremor works.

BTW,which is better; 32Bit IEEE float or 16Bit integer?

Choose 32-bit if
*- you want to process the audio after decoding (with ffdshow or other tool)
*- want to transcode it using a Direct Show encoder
*- have a 24-bit soundcard.

Otherwise choose 16-bit.

There is no point using higher resolution if nothing after the decoder can make use of it.

i have 24Bit card. didn't understand 2 first.

i have Ogg DirectShow Filters 0.9.9.5 installed and i now use it to decode Vorbis.
