DVD subtitles

One simple question:
How do I mess around with subtitles within a DVD? I want to make them move a bit to the bottom of the screen but what's in the options doesn't make any difference. What gives?

DVD subtitles are bitmaps, you can't change colour, size or position.

Whoever designed it this way was pretty dumb then, all I got to say...

The only alternative I think is to rip the subtitles and convert them to a textual format (SRT for example) and to load them externally by using BSplayer "Load subtitles..." menu item feature, and by disabling DVD ones.
This way you'll be able to move them wherever you want, and you can also change color and size of the subs.. The only downside is that you have to rip them off by yourself, or to find them on the net, but you also have to find them in your language and in synch with your video stream :roll:

DVD it's history, something from the past. At that time, it was one of the best solutions to be used.

Well, I'm starting to feel dumb... Can't move even the regular ones stored in a file, lol. I can change a few things but not the placement! Help!
Btw. Do I need to restart playback or even the player or do the changes take place automatically?

OPtions->preferencies->subtitles->draw subtitles to overlay

Shift+arrows

The history has not changed. Blurays still contain raster subtitles. The groups who design these video formats want to make sure you cannot use them how you please.
