Does BSP have problems with big files?

Recently I started watching rips of HD movies, which mean about 4-8GB in size. One very annoying thing I noticed is that when I fast-forward too much (like keep arrow pressed for more than say four seconds), BSP hangs completely and I have to kill it in task manager.
Is this a known problem or?...
The PC is far from slow by the way.

codecs I use: FFDShow and Haali media splitter.
Oh and BSP 2.28

Using CoreAVC and Gabest MKV splitter, doesn't have problems, nor my PC (E2200/2GB HD2600PRO) nor my laptop (T7300/2GB SIS Mirage 3). If you press for a long time the arrows, you must wait for indexing of the file to be done. That depends on the PCs performance. Have a little patience. I usually wait for about 3-4 secs before movie plays back normally.

Yup three seconds would be fine. But not a total hangup.

CoreAVC seems nice but I am not stupid to pay for a codec.

Me neither

Ah I see :P
How do I tell whether C-AVC is being used btw? I got FFD installed as well, of course.

You must disable H264 support in FFDshow configuration

Ah, like changing from libavcodec to disabled?

Yes, that's it. So, CoreAVC will take over decoding.

Besides filter/codec configuration, there are some issues related to system hardware and system resources, not just with Bsplayer also with WMP (but Bsplayer seems better than WMP in that case), for example, if you drag some windows like Messenger or other GUI-having windows while your favourite low-res WMV or MP4 movie is being played by Bsplayer, i see frame drops on my P4 2.4GHZ, 768MB DDR RAM, GeForce4 MX440 ancient card in Movie Info(Options -> Video Info)

Leaving system alone while playing video reduces risk of frame drops and skips based on my idea.

Additionaly, using WMP 9, the video is being displayed later than audio that causes frame skip at video start up in "statistics"(View -> Statistics), which is NOT frequently problem on Bsplayer.

Can anyone else confirm all of above?

Thanks.
