are these the same directions for BS player Free?...

are these the same directions for BS player Free? Or are DVDs unsupported in the free version? if it is supposed to work for me, there is something else to it.

when I attempt to open most DVDs, the screen just stays black, and nothing loads. The DVD is spinning, and the player progress bar skips around like crazy, but the DVD never...
