Never had probs like this with the old versions, but both the 800 and 803 of 1.0 crashed my pc quite well.
Unfortunately I didn't write down the error...

Perhaps you are using overlay on your tv. Which means u'd have to tick the draw subs to overlay surface box in options -> preferences -> subtitles.
