The point is that Western characters will work...

The point is that Western characters will work even if Unicode is not available. For people who choose to be "Westerners" during the installation of Windows. So it's kinda meaningless for an Italian...

If you're an Italian yourself then you should try...

If you're an Italian yourself then you should try Central European, Baltic, Turkish or Russian letters instead. Of course there are no problems with Western if your system is configured accordingly.
