Not if there's more lines to read in the subtitles... I'd rather read what the subtitlers intended us to read, instead of crippled text!
I mean, sure it's a bit much having more than 3 lines of subs, but what can the common end-user do about that? If one decides to make subs with more than 3 lines, then isn't it their choice? So, I believe it wouldn't be wrong to make it possible to display a few more lines. :)
