I have exactly the same problem
.
This morning, I installed BSPlayer in W2K at work, and everything worked OK, so I decided to install it also at home. But here, in my great  W98 Second Edition, BSPlayer doesn't want to start, never.
I have tried the installer version and the zip version, but the problem is the same (Ctrl+Alt+Sup shows BSPlayer doing something :?: :?: but I can't see anymore). I have disabled my Kaspersky antivirus and my personal firewall (Outpost), but BSPlayer doesn't mind, it keeps consuming CPU time and nothing happens. I haven't see any log file.
I promise to log here any advance made about this problem. :)
Bye.
(Sorry, I'm spanish and now I'm trying to learn some english)
