I'm using XP Pro. I did not knowingly/explicitly install any WMP codecs. I don't know if they previously existed on my system or not.
If I download the wmv file using wget and play it using Open (file), it will play just fine, so it should not be a codec issue. Besides, if I was missing a codec, it would be better to return an error message to that effect instead of "Unhandled exception."
