There are 3 ways:
- using TV and PC-monitor (dualview, theatermode, clonemode...)
1. Select "Draw subtitles to overlay surface" (preferences->subtitles), using Overlay mode 1 (preferences->video->video rendering).
In this case subtitles cannot be moved to "black part" (subtitle position offset CANNOT be negative), what means that subtitles are printed on movie (16:9 movies on 4:3 TV).
2. Instead Overlay mode 1, use VMR-9 renderless (preferences->video->video rendering) -> require DirectX 9.
In this case, you can move subtitles to the "black part" (subtitle position offset CAN be negative), but with less image quality (

- using single display mode (only TV or PC-monitor, not both)
3. In this case, which I prefer, with Overlay mode 1 and disabled "Draw subtitles to overlay surface", you can move subtitles to the "black part" with better image quality.
Correct me if I missed something.
