Ok. I think I solved the problem.
Anyone having the same problem please refer to this thread.
Suppose you installed quite a number of codecs like me.

Matroska Pack Lite
Codecs6027_allin_1 from
www.free-codecs.com
Go to:
Right click > Options > Preferences
Subtitles and check Subtitles disabled
It's a problem of conflicting subtitle codecs.
