There are very few videos as wide as 1024 horizontally. You must set the full screen resolution to match the video you are playing – 640*480, 720*576 or 800*600.
However, if you have an LCD monitor, the only choice is to run the videos in its native resolution: 1280*1024 or 1024*768.
