You can try to change the rendering mode as you saw in the preferences window, but I think the problem lays in the codec used by BSplayer..

Have you installed Nero Burning ROM? If yes, probably BSplayer is using the Nero filters to decode your MPEG2 movies..

When you play a VOB file in BSplayer, right click on BSplayer window and choose Options -> Filters -> Advanced Now you'll be able to see which codecs are used by BSplayer.

Nero decoder is really slow and thus the video will be choppy. I suggest you to use an alternative MPEG2 decoder (in adicoto's list of codecs you'll find 3 of them, one freeware), Elecard works great for me
