Sice I, adicoto and BSPeter (and I think almost all other BSplayer users) don't have your problem (and I'm using last BSplayer version, but anyway I never had such a problem also with previous versions), probably it's your codec/filter that has problems.
Maybe the older version of BSplayer you installed detected other filters and used them instead of the not working one.
As adicoto and BSPeter already asked you, can you please post here which filters does BSplayer use when a movie is played? (right-click -> Options -> Filters -> Advanced)
