Without the reverse TC, a movie is displayed in 29.9, to require playback in 60 hz.
The film is recorded in 24/frames a second. So frames are repeated to come to this 60 hz (2x30 hz).
In travelings this gives an unstable background and a bit jerky impression. You will not notice it with a fixed camera, or when it goes really fast.
So to make the image more stable, the Reverse pulldown, bring the frames back to 24 (23.9).
The computer puts out 24, or 48 hz for my projector, who can accept the last rate.
