The problem of missing extra features is built into BSplayer (as already stated in the BUGS list) and
AFAIK there isn't a workaround for this.
The only support he can get is from BSplayer team since I (and I think also other users) can't help him with this kind of problem.
The only way to come to a solution of the problem (in my opinion) is to Help2Help (sorry if I steal your words Peter :P ).
By helping developpers in findingwhere the problem lays it will help us to have this problem fixed
