Yes, this is possible.
To do that close the video, (if any is playing), then open 'Preferences' and go to the 'Audio' option. Seen from the top, 'Audio' is the third parent-option in the tree after 'General' and 'Video'.
Now locate the dropdown field labeled 'Default audio stream'. Since the dropdown itself does not offer any numbers, delete the default '1' and type the number of the stream that is to become the new default into the field. Then close Preferences and start your movie. The default audio stream is now depending on what number you have entered into the field, and it will stay that way until you change the number again.
