If you want to change the icons back to the default wmp ones do this..
Goto the file types menu (in win2k its in tools - folder options - file types)
Locate the file you want to change (eg .avi) click advanced
Click on change icon and locate 'quartz.dll'
In win2k its in \winnt\system32
This file contains the origional media player icons :)
