I have captured live TV with Xvid and mp3 (Fraunhofer) at 128 Kb/s and if I playback (with 1.00 RC1) on my XP-SP1-Dx90b box, BSplayer reports (options|filters|advanced) that it uses ACM Wrapper (quartz.dll {6A08CF80-0E18-11CF-A24D-0020AFD79767}) as Audio decoder and video and audio is in sync and everything is ok.
However, the same avi.file played back on my laptop (W2K-SP4-Dx90b) BSplayer reports MPEG Layer-3 Decoder (L3CODECX.AX) and video and audio is not in sync
. RadLigth Filter manager report a merit value of 0x006000000 for the ACM Wrapper and a value of 0x008100000 for the MPEG Layer-3 Decoder on both machines. I would have expected that the MPEG Layer-3 Decoder should be selected on both machines resulting in video-audio sync problems :?.
Could anyone explain what are the BSplayer filter selection criteria and how could this happen and how can I control it? I am afraid that if I install any new piece of software the filter chain selection might be affected resulting in sync or other problems.
Where in the registry are these merit values stored?
