BsPlayer can't play mp4
 

I just downloaded the latest version of bsplayer im using windows xp and bsplayer downloaded codecs while installing.
the problem is it can't open any mp4 file the good quality bluray files while other programs like jetaudio and winamp can open them, whats the problem?

Is MP4 in the list of "Associated extensions"?
(rightclick > Options > Preferences > File types (under "General"))
If not: add it by typing in the box just above the [Add extension]-button etc...

So, what happens if you drag and drop the MP4 file on BSPlayer?

it takes a while then it may plays only audio with a black screen

Can you post a link to such a file ?

Maybe report which codecs/filters BS.Player actually uses to play this file. To find out, load the file and then ..
...rightclick > Options > Filters > Advanced
Also click on "Source" and on the [+]-signs in front of the filters/codecs shown to get further info (and access).
