Help me with a skin problem, take a look! I've just created a skin using the great Tizio program, but i have a problem with the shape. If i put MainAnySape=0 it will look like this : This is OK. But if i put MainAnySape=1, it will look like that : That is NOK. You can see upper left and bottom left corners don't display correctly, and i don't know why. As anybody got this problem and how to solve it? |

Hi djoole! First of all, thank you for the comment regarding my program! Have you encountered this problem in BSplayer or in my program (I think in BSplayer, I had a similar problem too)? As kylek said attach a copy of your skin and I will test it too. However, if you have this problem within BSplayer and not in my program, try to delete the "rgn.dat" file present in the folder/bsz-file of your skin and then try to reopen BSplayer and load your skin. Let me/us know!! Bye |

Hi, thanks for your answers! Problem occurs in Bsplayer, not your prog Tizio! As for the rgn.dat, i haven't this file in my bsz file! Only bmp's and ini's! Did i miss something? Kylek, i'll post the skin for test as soon as i get permission from icons author (mattahan) and from VS author (m0se) :) |

the rgn.dat file when present in your skin folder just saves BSPlayer some time in drawing skins with transparent pixels. To get this file extract your *.zip or *.bsz file into a new folder in the 'bsplayer\skins' folder, run BSPlayer select the folder name from the skin selection tab, and the file should appear in the folder. Now just add this file to your *.zip folder and your finished. note: this should be the last step in your skinning process if it's done at all, as the time saved is negligible for smaller skins. |

@kylek Sorry, when I asked if the problem was occouring in BSpÄ?layer or in my skin, I forgot to specify that I was answering it to djoole. Thank you anyhow for the reply. :) However, My suggestion in "deleting rgn.dat file" resides in the fact that if djoole edited his skin after it has been opened with BSplayer, the rgn.dat file was created and if the main image borders were modified after the rgn.dat creation, BSplayer ignores the new borders and read shape informations only from that file... So it could be that the left border doesn't look correct due to the rgn.dat file. @djoole Follow kylek instructions to extract your skin's files and then REMOVE the rgn.dat file. After that try opening the skin and see if the borders are ok. If not... we will wait you for posting the skin and try to fix your problem.. Bye! |

This is just a guess. But try to add an additional 1-2 pixel transparent border around the main skin image and adjust the button/display position accordingly. Make sure all edges of the skin are surrounded by the transparent border. @tizio In my post, I wasn't saying the 'rgn.dat' could not be the problem; in fact, i thought it may be. I was just describing its function to djoole. kylek |

As you can see, now left and top sides have one pixel width that should be transparent, and right and bottom sides miss on pixel width that should NOT be transparent. Result with 2 pix border : As you can see, now lwe have the original problem, plus a missing pixel width on the left. I also tried with 4 pixels and result is the same than with 2. Here is the main.bmp if you want to do some test! main.bmp |

Working perfect with your rgn.dat!! I've modified bmp again, now can you generate a new rgn.dat for me please?? Here is the new bmp : main.bmp |

@djoole Here's the rgn.dat file for your new main image.. @kylek Ok, no problem, sorry. Bye P.S. Thank you Seigo Takeuchi for reporting this problem and the corresponding solution! :) |

Oups, hehe, same problem with fsrgn.dat of course ;) Here is the fsmain.bmp, hope it won't bother you to generate a good one for me again? Thanks very very much. fsmain.bmp |

yeah, thanks for the insight Seigo. I knew something was wrong with the transparency in some of my skins, but i wasn't sure why or how to fix it. i've attached the rgnfs.dat file for your skin, djoole |
