What is the 100% displayed on the left?

Sorry this is a newbie question. Please help.

Please see the attached screen shot - what is the up arrow, down arrow and 100% on the left? How can I make it gone? Thanks.

It's the speed control.
You can increase or decrease the playback speed at 10% steps.
It's smart because does not effect the audio pitch.
The control should fade out in few seconds.

Look for "Show controls on play" and "Controls display timeout" in Settings > User interface
