Where and how to install codec? It works quite well, however when I tried to play a 1080p .wmv file it became clear that this was a bit to much for the player or the codec. I noticed that there is a possibility in the Playback Preferences to use a custom codec libffmpeg7_v8.so. On the BSplayer web site I found the Windows kit to build this codec, and after downloading and unzipping the kit I was able to make the codec. It took quite a while, there were many warnings (sloppy programming?), it wasn't quite clear where the resulting codec was to be found, but never the less I got it. My next problem is where and how to install this codec, with other players (like the free BSplayer) you can download and install the codec, but how is it done here? Custom Codec location?
I'm also interested in where to install the custom codec. The Interface (Preferences /Playback Preferences/ Custom codec/) has, use default codec check box and (ARMv7 NEON (libffmpeg7_v6.so)). When I deselect use default codec, I can browse my file system to the location of my custom codec but it isn't displayed (i.e. libffmpeg7_v8.so), so how can I select it? The name is as provided by the Windows kit to build this codec. Is there a file name filter? Do I need to change the file extension? Alternatively Is there a default location that BSPlayer looks for custom codecs? OR Where is libffmpeg7_v6.so stored? I have Root access, perhaps I can replace it with my custom one. I've searched the wiki and forum but I can't find an answer. |

You can replace replace "libffmpeg7_v19.so" in install directory for me "/data/data/com.bsplayer.bspandroid.full/nlibs/" by the file you downloaded. In"Terminal Emulator" or "adb shell" It's look like this : Command mode : shell@remix_x86_64:/ $su root@remix_x86_64:/ #cd /data/data/com.bsplayer.bspandroid.full/nlibs/ root@remix_x86_64:/data/data/com.bsp...oid.full/nlibs #mv libffmpeg7_v19.so libffmpeg7_v19.so.ref root@remix_x86_64:/data/data/com.bsp...oid.full/nlibs #cp /sdcard/Download/libffmpeg7_v19.so ./ root@remix_x86_64:/data/data/com.bsp...oid.full/nlibs #ls -als total 24088 -rwx------ u0_a82 u0_a82 781820 2016-08-06 13:13 libBSPlayer16_v19.so -rwx------ u0_a82 u0_a82 363024 2016-08-06 13:13 libbspmplay2l1_v19.so -rwx------ u0_a82 u0_a82 132456 2016-08-06 13:13 libbspmplayl1_v19.so -rwx------ u0_a82 u0_a82 255308 2016-08-06 13:13 libcpdmod2_v19.so -rw-rw---- root root 11685788 2016-08-06 13:20 libffmpeg7_v19.so -rwx------ u0_a82 u0_a82 11439612 2016-08-06 13:13 libffmpeg7_v19.so.ref root@remix_x86_64:/data/data/com.bsp...oid.full/nlibs #chown u0_a82:u0_a82 libffmpeg7_v19.so root@remix_x86_64:/data/data/com.bsp...oid.full/nlibs #chmod 700 libffmpeg7_v19.so root@remix_x86_64:/data/data/com.bsp...oid.full/nlibs # exit shell@remix_x86_64:/ $ exit Restart BSPlayer |
