Can't run BSplayer with avi and sub with the same name Quote:
The thing is that vobsub in MP requires the name to be the same and I want the movie with subs runnable with both programs. This is possible if you rename the files every time, but as I'm going to burn my movies on cd's that won't be possible. I have Win98SE |

Uninstall vobsub, or the codec pack that installed vobsub. You don't need it with bsplayer. Or, if you use it on other app, then disable subtitles from vobsub configuration.

I'm using BSplayer v0.86.499 and VobSub v2.23 (both the newest version). @adicoto: Are you saying that BSplayer conflicts with VobSub? I think you may be right. Nothing to do them. I want it runnable with MS MP cause I've experienced problems with bsplayer. Can't see Ä??¤?¶ (sometimes I can) and it the text flickers (not sure that's the right word). |

Vobsub is trying to display a subtitle. Bsplayer have it's own subtitle displayer. So, sometimes they enter in conflict. You can disable bsplayer to display subtitle, by renaming the subtitle file, or pressing the "s" key or you can disable vobsub from displaying the subtitle from it's configuration menu. Bsplayer new is 500, since last month (see nightly builds). Search for a topic about vobsub, there you can find, explained by BST, how to disable subtitle in vobsub. I don't know exactly because I don't have installed vobsub. I don't need it. |

I have HAD exactly the same problem. I do use NOW DivXG400 instead of VobSub. Now my problem is solved. :D I see subtitles in Windows Media Player, which are automatically displayed by DivXG400, when using same name for movie and subtitle. When using BSPlayer, DivXG400 does nothing at all, and therefore it does not conflict each other. So uninstall VobSub and install DivXG400: http://www.tac.ee/~prr/videoutils/divxg400.html :D |

I don't have a situation. I've mentioned that DivxG400 conflicts with the two players so, if someone read this post, to know about that. And as you said, who needs more than one player ? Bsplayer is more than enough. |

I need two players, in Vobsub the sub flickers if you place it wrong (solved the Ä??¤?¶ problem though). Using MP with Vobsub worked better though, but as I couldn't even open BSplayer using Vobsub that was a problem. But thanx to cjdijk I don't have a problem anymore. :) Thank you. |
