BSPLAY does not like .WMV formats
Running the latest BSPLAY on WinME with 550 PIIImmx and 194 meg 100mhz RAM with an ultra ide drive and a riva tnt ultra 32 meg video card.
Direct X 8
BSplay is very flaky with .Wmv video is often slow and seeking will make the program freeze, requiring it to be shut down with task manager. If Bsplay is opened after that, all formats will respond with an OVERLAY FAILED error mesage and give either a black screen and no sound or no screen at all.
This is a problem peculiar to BSPLAY. The same .wmv file will run fine in either Mplayer, the old windows media player or the latest Windows Media player, even AFTER Bsplay refuses to play all video formats with an overlay failed message. Problem is I HATE those Microsnot programs and BSPLAY totally kicks their butt when it is functioning properly, but it is not as stable, sort of like comparing a ferrari to a honda I guess.
It seems that once BSplay gets the right environment to crash with an overlay failed, it will not play any other video file until a reboot.
