blank screen on closing

Just upgraded to latest bsplayer - only problem is when closing player (every 5 or 6th time) my puter screen goes blank and i have to reboot - ctrl, alt, del doesn't bring anything up nor does the window button. No error appears - just a blacked out screen. Any suggestions? PS: simple instructions please - i am new at this :-)
