Default need some help!

hi guys!

would really appreciate some help. I am having trouble reading .avis and .dixs using BS player. I am getting very fast audio and stilted video for a few seconds and then it crashes, and I can't read the media in windows media player either. I reinstalled my nimo codecs pack (now have version 5.0 build 8) ffdshow (20th May update) and the latest bs player build 808 but am having the same problem.

(for info running windows xp)

Does anyone have any ideas what could be going on here? I'm not so great with all the diagnostic stuff and don't really speak the language so would appreciate and plain and simple advice!

Thanks!

I'm not sure it wil solve your problem, but it won't hurt either :) :

Uninstall all codec packs.
Codec packs cause more troubles than that they actually solve.
Re-install FFDshow. It's all you need (and maybe the latest XviD codec)

Hope this helps,
Rafke P.

Simple and plain advice:
Don't use Codecs Packs!
Uninstall and unregister every codec that is installed in your PC.
Install only the codecs which you use!
