In spite of your signature "do or do not-there is no try!" I would advise you to try a different overlay mode:
(rightclick) > Options > Preferences > Video > Video rendering
e.g. Use overlay Mode 1 (or 2) or
Use VMR-9 (you need to have installed DirectX9.0b for that!)

(removed your second identical post; please do not double post)

It worked-somewhat funny though-now the movie is framed in a window, you don't get full screen-only to maximize the window-and there is no subtitles.
Also with right click you get menu with Video and Subtitles in orange and apparently therefore with no access.
I'm running DirectX9.0 but 9.0b is downloading as we speek.I'm gonna check it out and hope for the best.
By the way-the signature is Yoda from "the Empire strikes back".
Aren't Star Wars the best?
