Default Playing DVD's with BSPlayer

I'm a newbie and this question seems to have been posted before, but the replies haven't worked for me.
I am using BSPlayer to view video coded with Xvid codec and this works fine; but I would like to view DVD's but the screen remains blank (Dvd's are Mpeg4). Can someone tell me how to handle this problem.
Thanks

This subforum is for reporting misbehavior of BSPlayer not discussions about video formats or ripping.

What files are there on your DVD? Why do you think that the video is in MPEG4 format?

If there are *.mp4 files you must install a MP4 Splitter first. Usual DVD discs contain MPEG2 video as *.vob files. In that case you need a MPEG-2 Splitter and a MPEG2 Decoder.

I quote J7N post!
Usually DVD's movie files are .vob and coded in MPEG2 format. If you have mp4 files follow J7N instructions :)

If you can wait for BSplayer v2 it should be able to fully support DVDs (I think only for PRO users), and obviously if you want to reproduce DVDs with BSplayer

If you have a normal DVD (copyrighted) you can't play it only if you have a DVD decrypter. If you have a ripped DVD, just install an MPEG2 decoder, such as Elecard or BitCtrl.

Oops, I forgot that there are this kind of "normal" MPEGs.

Encrypted (ineficiently stored) data should not be considered "normal". All data as well as videos must be kept in a form so that it can be retrieved as fast as possible.
