So maybe BSPlayer does not take into account that Italic is a different font in fact and will most likely not match in width. |
Fixed, bug fix will be included in the next version of BS.Player. Thank you for your feedback. |
Now, that's what I would call really excellent news!! :D |
After reading some older posts regarding this matter, I found a workaround for my problem. This problem only happens when subtitles are autoloaded (they have the same filename as the movie) by the player, but if I manually load subtitles, then everything is fine. So, until the next version this'll do. Regards. |
Hereunder I repeat a more recent thread (4 posts) concerning the same problem. [Locked that particular thread.] Quote:

After browsing some other forums, I came acros some complaints about incompatibilityes between Haali and other players. Could it be the faulty one ? Can't believe 2 different player have issues with the same splitter. |
I am using Haali splitter.I have this problem too with external subtitles (embedded mkv subs don't work at all) and only in BSPlayer. |

@nemesis63: still using BS-Player-version 2.24? http://members.home.nl/van.raak/wink.gif May I suggest future posters that they (i.a.) also mention which BS.Player version and Haali-version they use pse! |
Sugestion: Play the file with problems, while playing, open subtitle properties->font and swich from regular to italic. Then swich back to regular . Please post here the results. Thank you. |

If you swich in subtitle properties the script from tukish to western european, and back, does this change anything ? |

Yes, I know, that's why I told you to get back to turkish. :wink: You did this while playing the file and nothing changed ? |

The subtitle OSD screen might also be video driver dependant, not just muxer-splitter combo. I recently setup a Win98 computer with integrated Intel Extreme graphics. I installed the regular trusted set of codecs (Haali, ffdshow beta3, ac3filter 1.01a). The computer has several display problems with DirectDraw games and also subtitles in BS do not work properly: can't be positioned, are not transparent, cropped. Resorted to drawing them to video using ffdshow. Thankfully the comp is fast enough for that. |
they seem to be the regular length. Something changed from 2.15 to 2.21 that shouldn't have, I hope there's a fix for this soon... |
This fixed my problem: Open the subtitle file with notepad. Click File > Save as. Set Encoding to ANSI instead of UTF-8. Dont change the name and click save. It will ask you if you are willing to replace the file click "YES". It seems that subtitles are bugged if they are encoded in UTF-8. |
@Ferlorin, thanks for info |
right click on the screen, options, preferences and under the subtitles menu check the new parser option. Problem should be solved. |
