Default AVI Files- out of sync

OS- Vista Home premium
Manufacturer- Hewlett Packard (compaq)
BsPlayer version- 2.26

I seem to be having trouble with BS playing my AVI files: the video would sometimes freeze, or slow down, and the audio continues, thus they go out of sync, the video does try to catch up, but it does not always succeed. This does not happen in Windows media player, or media player classic. Bsplayer has not shown trouble playing other video formats.

Here is what i tried:
Changing rendering modes
installing and registering AVI Splitter and DivX Decoder Filter

Can you tell us which video and audio codecs are used by BS.Player with your problematic videos? (with video file opened -> right-click -> Options -> Filters -> Advanced)

Here are the codecs used, but as I said, this happens only with .AVIs. It rarely occurs with other file formats.
question- Which renderer should i use? Internal renderer, overlay mixer, VMR, or EVR?

I suggest you the default internal renderer, try also the EVR if you use Vista

Don't use DivX v6.x if you can switch back to DivX v5.x or better switch to XviD or FFDShow..

As a last chance try to use the internal renderer instead of the Windows one (go to preferences by pressing CTRL+P -> hold SHIFT key and click on "Filter management" -> now choose "Use internal AVI parser")

Thaks, i did everything in your instructions, and now i use XviD to play my movies. The AVI is running way better, it still freezes for about a second every 10 minutes, but it never goes out of sync. So, i think the problem has been fixed.

If the problem doesn't occur in Windows Media Player and if you've done enough test to confirm this, then there shouldn't be a hardware a driver issue. Check your rendering mode and maybe you may want to set Bsplayer's process priority to "above normal" when the resources are quite empty.

And maybe lower the hardware acceleration for your audio driver
