Default [SOLVED] TV Tuner Problem - Video Displaying

I have BSPlayer Pro 2.31 and I right-click and choose "Open Device (TV Tuner)." When the content is being played back, though, I just get a bunch of tiny horizontal lines and they don't even form a picture. I can't take a screenshot, so i can't show you. i tried googling the problem, but i found zip. just a link that went to this site. I have updated my conexant video card driver, but no dice.

I'm running XP media center edition 2005.

Please help me! I will come and check back for replies whenever i can (a few hours or so).

1. Conexant drivers are requiered by the capture card, not the videocard. There is an aplication that came with the capture card. Does this display the image correctly ?
2. You can try to change rendering method in BSPlayer preferences from iternal renderer to overlay mixer.

Open BSPlayer, press ctrl+p , select from the left "Video" and on the right you have 4 labels, the fourth is "video rendering ".
Go there and select from drop-down box.

NO WAY! IT WORKED!!! :D :D :D

Thank you so much!

But the picture is a bit hazy (more of an Interlaced Picture displaying; I am playing the video through a DTV box). Is there a way to make the picture more clearer (like a progressive picture display)?

Thanks in advance,
-MrWHO

You should be able to acces tuner's chipset properties. In there you must find an option called "better quality" if I recall correctly.

i'm sorry but i do not know how to do that.

also, I installed ffdshow, but it is not allowing me to select the properties in BS.player. I've attached a screen shot below. could you help me figure out what is wrong?

lastly, I installed "DScaler." supposedly it is a live video player that is supposed to deinterlace live video. It worked fine, but i can not use the filter from DScaler in BS player. Is there a way I can use the same filters in DScaler in BS player?

thanks in advance!

Adout Dscaler, I recall testing it once, some time ago. Didn't like it and deleted. Sorry, Can't help with this.
About FFDshow. Those options are greyed out when the filters are NOT in use. So, to acces FFDshow properties from BSPlayer, you must first open a file that it's handeled by FFDshow, and then the configuration window will be accesible.

thank you for your reply. i also did not DScaler as it crashed my computer, so i removed it. also, i found the deinterlacing filter on the same sourceforge website that i downloaded dscaler from. I decided to install it, but it appears that it does not deinterlace live video.

is there a way to deinterlace live video?

Sorry to dissapoint, but I recall wrong that there is a posibility to acces TV tuner's configuration window from inside BSPlayer. I have an old Brooktree (Conexant BT878) based tuner card and each program I use (it's own capture, VirtualDub, WinDVD Creator), let me acces those functions. BSPlayer...I haven't found a way.
And a bug in an old build: 2.30.970 IIRC. When trying to start capture device, I got the "parsing URL" window ended with an error. Wasn't able to start device. Bug it's fixed in latest build.

There should be a way to solve this. But probably only if you can acces the tuner configuration panel from other program.
Which resolution did you select for the TV window ? In Device settings.

Can you post the tuner specifications in here ? Most of the TV tuners operate at 640x480 as resolution. Everything above that it's upscaled
