"outline font" makes BSplayer crash

If I turn "outline font" on in the Subtitles Settings tab, BSplayer (build 494, DivX 5.03 Pro) crashes after a few seconds displaying two "weird" windows, the first saying "Canvas does not allow" and the second "The parameter is" (that's it!).
Everything runs fine if I turn that option off.
