Default .RAR support

imo, it would be nice with the possibility to watch a movieclip
inside of a (series of) rar archive(s). Thus, not having to decompress
the clip first.

I don't know if this is possible to do but it would be nice even though
it would require more processing power (decompressing/decoding at
the same time). plus precaching the data of the next volume.

Some of you might think this would "bloat" the software, well - make
it a optional plugin, you can see this function in other software such
as emulators and i promise you ... it saves alot of people a little time!

All clips i've got are split up into 15mb volumes.

What do you other people think about this?

First of all, you can't gain space by compressing video files like that. So, extract them and use them like that. Second, when you try to play a file from an archive, it is extracted on a temporary folder on the hdd, it is not really played from inside the archive.

Someone captures a tv-show and encodes the video and audio
streams, this is the space-saver - i know. however, suppose that
you would like to share this show with a friend, ah. Internet is
awesome, but - sending a ~200mb file might corrupt the file
specially if one (or both) of you are connected via ADSL.

So, splitting the clip up into, say 15mb archives would save both
of you alot of time if something goes wrong, by verifying the
checksum of the files you can find out which volume is corrupt
and just re-send that one.

This is a lame suggestion.
Playing from RAR archives? Go fishing!

It wold be better to support playing SVCDS directly from CUE/BIN file. This would be a nice suggestion.

Hum, you can't decompress split RAR's unless you have all of them
If you have all of them, and that compression isn't saving you any space (since video are already usually amazingly compressed) why don't you just unpack them?

you can just use Daemon Tools for simulating a fake cd drive and then playing from that fake cd, doesn't require any burning..
