Default BS player not playing some avi under a login name (XP)

It has to be something with the settings, but when I use bsplayer on my main log-in name it will not play some movies that I have. I logoff and go to another username and I can play them.. What's going on????

Strange issue, can you give more details?

Are you an Administrator of this PC? Did you install BSPlayer or you just use it?

Is this the same BSPlayer in both cases, I mean is it installed in the same directory?

Do you know the codec of the movie? (Look at the properties of the movie in the working login session)

How do you try to run your movie? Do you Double-click on it in an Explorer window or do you load it from inside BSPlayer? Try this latest way (with [L] shortcut) if you didn't. If it doesn't work neither, run \Program Files\Windows Media Player\mplayer2.exe and try to load your movie.

Default Don't know!~!

Well, this happened after installing a whole bunch of mpeg and codecs' as I was trying to convert an avi movie to vcd.. After that happened some movies of mine never played well again.
I wish to know how to uninstall the guilty codecs since they don't appear in add/remove programs...
Thanks, for any reply@@

Well after much researching I figured that i had to find a way to uninstall the codecs from xp. I looked as much as I could even in ms.com and no info pertaining removing codecs from xp, the only thing they tell you is how to remove them from 98,me !!
So if anyone knows how to remove codecs from xp, please let me know!!

open the device manager
go to audio, video and games controlers (roughly translated from french , I'm not at home thus cannot check the original names)
select video codecs, display properties. you should be able to delete them from here

If system tells you about confusing codec, or you know it's name:
Goto Start->Run and execute
"regsvr32 /u <codec_name.ax>"
(I hate the indows device manager, cause it only let you see, what it wants...)
