I've always and consistently advised against using codec packs! I would think especially on Win7 the use thereof should be off-limits.

WMV, AVI and MPEG doesn't have common codecs. So, there is no codec that can be used to play all 3 files and be missing. So, I believe you let BSPlayer install codecs through codecmanager, and they didn't installed because UAC was not disabled or Program files folder it's still "read only" . Windows 7 doesn't report that the filters didn't installed. Nice trick. Anyhow, WMV should be runing without any other codec. Suggestion 1: download and run MPC. Try the files you mentioned. If all 3 files play OK, codecs are with the problem. If not, then the files are fakes, downloaded from internet. Suggestion 2: UNinstall BSPlayer and it's codecs. Uninstall codecpack. Reinstall codecs or codecpack. Install BSPLayer without downloading filters. |

If you meant on Media pleyer classic i already have it and i tried with it. I will reinstall BS and codec. But please tell me which are BS configure files? And i have one more problem. From time to time when i want to close BSplayer i get non response for it and i have to shut down from task manager. I have that with previous ver too. |

Doesn't play. I do not know why this happen but many other files are work. With k-lite codec pack i got mediainfo. when i use it to see files with MediaInfo it doesn't show nothing. Just the path of file and size. For one file (avi) where is only sound starts it shows all other infos about file. I searched for other avi files on HDD. I found one into game, it is avi and it has only about 1MB. I get the same codec error and when i want to see mediainfo about that file i do not get nothing. Here it is the file: association.avi The file is from NBA 2k10 Other are very big for upload. |

If mediaInfo does not identify the codecs, then there are 99 % chances that the file isn't an audio/video file but a file with a changed extension. Downloaded the sample, does not play with any of my players, so I believe it's not an A/V file.When I will reboot I will login under Linux to see if the file can be played there (I doubt, but wiill test)

Win 7 stores BSPlayer's config files (bsplayer.xml) in: C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Roaming\BSplayer PRO Usually, that behaviour it's caused by a non-responsive filter (codec). |
| |||
The files are probably damaged. Anyway i downloaded them before now i wanted to check them to see do they need me anymore. When i saw 4 files are not working i decided to check what is wrong. About this question which i asked above: http://forum.bsplayer.com/answered-s...html#post41011 I did what you told me. I unchecked 'read-only' for all BSplayer folders (i did that for program files and p.f. (x86) folder). When i check properties for any BSplayer file all files are uncecked from 'read only'. |
| |||
Usually, BSPlayer's bookmark file it's stored (under windows 7) in C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\BSplayer PRO\bsplay.bkf The whole path must include un-read only files and folders. |
| |||
It is all how you said. I did that i previous topic (i above gave link) and after that i still have from time to time non response time when i want to close BSplayer. All other is work perfect!
|
| |||
So, bookmark problem it's solved. Just the problem with hungup aplication from time to time ? Can you find something incommon between the files that you play when BSPlayerstops responding (same video codec, same audio codec... ? )
|
| |||
Yes, it is solved the 1st one, i found cfg file. I reinstall BSplayer and codec pack I did not fallow that. But when it happen again i will see with MediaInfo what codec are. Then i will post here. |
