Stupid overlay tricks
I noticed that while using BSPlayer (or anything else, for that matter) to play a video, if I run PowerDVD (4.0, although I'm not sure the version matters) and play anything (physical DVD, files on the drive, etc.), then the BSPlayer window will go black. This seems to be because PowerDVD "steals" the overlay (how, I'm not precisely certain). Although this behavior in and of itself is not typically what I want to happen, it is at times useful to run PowerDVD to steal the overlay from something pesky (like DVD2AVI, for example, which certainly doesn't need the overlay but loves to take it if it's available) and then shut down PowerDVD to release the overlay (after which point BSPlayer is free to use the overlay again, without having to kill DVD2AVI).
That's about it; just hoping this information will be of use to someone else as well.
