Default problem with WMV and ASF on BSPLAYER

I simply can't see any of them. I read other posts with people with the same problems, and I've already installed the WMP9 codecs. (there's no need to say that I then reboot).

But when I open a vmw or asf file, the sound works fine, but only a grey screen is shown. Any suggestions, please? I was able to see those formats before I had to format and reinstall win. I dunno what must be happening now...win crap!! xDD

Thanks.

grey screen means most of the time that the color adjustment sliders are not in the default (middle) position

Default Grey Screen

I had the same problem with grey screen (audio, but only grey screen). I checked my sliders and they were in the default center position already, so that was not it. But then, I notice on the "video" tab, an option for using "DivX 4 decoder for MP43, DIV3, DIV4" and I checked it (it was not checked by default). Suddenly, I had the picture back! This cured my grey screen!

The message you're looking at refers to a pre-v1 build... this option is no longer available.

Hi! You need the WMP9 runtime distribution files installed, wmfdist.exe, not just the codecs. You can either install WMP9, or get the "Windows Media Format Series 9 SDK". If you choose the SDK, it is here they must mail you a url: http://wmlicense.smdisp.net/v9sdk/ As long as you give a real email addy you will get a reply. Install the SDK, hopefully on a test bed , then do a find for "wmfdist.exe"--install that on dream machine. Good to go here! BSP plays asf/wmv then just fine. Ciao!

Just upgraded to version 808 and fortunately find the slide bars. It works! Now I can make BSPLAYER the default for all formats.
