Default Playing of mkv files

How to play .mkv files in bsplayer? Is there a clean-cut and effective answer? Why not having the respective codec incorporated into bsplayer from its installation?
Thank you

When installing, BSPlayer codec manager ask you to install requiered codecs, such as LAV filters which handle more than OK any usual video format, including MKV. So, if you didn't install them, do it running codecmanager.exe from BSPlayer install folder.
If you are using Windows 10 you may need to unset read only attribute to the folder.

You may want to put the answer in the FAQ file for others to read it. Thanks again!

Default Play MKV files

There are many MKV player apps such as uView, VLC Media Player, KMPlayer, SMPlayer, DAPlayer, FreeSmith Video Player that you can install on your computer for MKV files playback.

Thank you mr Sunderlandgreen for your assistance. I am aware of these players, the difference with bs player being that the latter can find and attach subtitles correctly.
The matter has been solved for me already. (see the thread here below).
