Default MPEG File Time Elapsed/Remaining Broken

Hi,
I hope this isn't a stupid question, but when I try to watch a certain file the time counter doesn't move and I am not able to seek during the file at all.

The file is an MPEG and uses the Intervideo Video Codec. I have played this in powerdvd and searching works fine there.

I have also tried to use different codecs with no success.

Any ideas? :?:
