Default How do I make movie.cbf file to view chapters and pictures?

I have read the docs in bsplayer and I was wondering how can I make those .cbf files it says. If someone could tell me where to find info about it or can explain in the forum how to do that, I'll be very glad. Thanks. :D

It's a very easy thing to do. Unfortunately the only site I know that explain how to do this is in french. French team strike again! ;)))))

All you need are two simple and very friendly programs:

1) Chapter-X-Tractor:

http://christophe.paris.free.fr/main.php3
or another link faster to download it:
http://fabrice.campanella.free.fr/Ch...ctor_v0.95.zip

2) ChapMaker

http://fabrice.campanella.free.fr/ChapMaker.zip

First you have to run Chapter-X-Tractor.

Select tab "Format" and at the bottom clic on "Preset" and select BSplayer.
Then open your IFO file. You'll get this:

1=00:00:00 Chapter 1
2=00:05:59 Chapter 2
3=00:09:11 Chapter 3
4=00:11:59 Chapter 4
5=00:13:46 Chapter 5
6=00:15:49 Chapter 6
........ and so on

Modify to get something like this

1=00:00:00 Welcome
2=00:05:59 The murder
3=00:09:11 The only witness
........ and so on

The name of the chapters are located on the back of your DVD or within. It look more professionnal to list the name of chapters within BSPlayer than generic names "Chapter1..Chapter2...".

After this, add [Chapters] at the top:

[Chapters]
1=00:00:00 Welcome
2=00:05:59 The murder
3=00:09:11 The only witness
............

If you only want to add chapters without images it's over. You just have to copy-paste within your ini file as explain in the doc of BSPlayer. Whenever you'll launch your movie, BSPlayer will read the ini (you need an autolaunch program), see the [Chapters] section and you or people who get your movie could go directly to the chapter they want by right-cliking on the movie window and going under "Chapters" section.

Another choice is to save your work under a file with extension CHF:

Matrix_CD1.CHF

Launch your movie, right click on your movie window and select "Chapters". It will ask to load a file with CHF extension. Select your file and you'll be done.

Now the thrilling episode! :)))))

You can add images to each chapter. It takes a long time to go, repeating the same task over and over but the final result worth it.

Now you launch the second program: ChapMaker.
Select "Create Chapter file" and then clic on "Add picture".

Of course you still haven't any picture. Use your DVD movie to position at the scene you want, pause the movie and save the image. You now have to resize the picture to a lower size. I usually resize down to 176 large (Do this with Paint Shop Pro I.E and keep the ratio to not deform the image so you don't have to worry about the height).

Be careful: each resized picture must have the same size. In my case, each ones will be 176 large. If you have a picture which get 175 or 177, you could not add it using ChapMaker.

So you must have one image fitting each chapter. The choice of the best image who summarize the chapter is yours. So if you have 24 chapters you'll have 24 pictures.

Come back to ChapMaker. Add each image in the right order (do not select picture 4 and picture 3 just after, you have to select in the same order that the chapters are). Click save and name that file the SAME of your movie:

Matrix_CD1.AVI then your ChapMaker file will be:
Matrix_CD1.CBF

Otherwise it won't work. Put this file in tha same folder of your movie of course.

Now, after some headaches to realize that, launch your movie. BSplayer will read the ini, see the [Chapters] section, see there is a CBF file and load automatically all this people.

Last but not least: type CTRL+V during the movie to see a wonderful pattern of pictures, with the name of each chapter on it and select the one you want to automatically being moved to it.

Antoehr way, as describe upper, is to load the Chapters manually. BSPlayer is smart enough to open the CBF file alone. Then CTRL+V.

Enjoy!!!!! :))
