Default DVD - Vob files in BS Player

I tried playing an unprotected VOB file in BS Player, but I got mixed results: the file loads and plays OK but:
1. the time length shown is much smaller than the actual length. When the movie reaches the "final" mark, it keeps playing, but the time counter remains frozen.
2. I cannot change the time index (fast-forward or rewind) - when I do that, the image freezes (however, the time counter keeps rolling).

Media Player Classic handles the file just fine.
Ideeas ?

This is due, either to a bad MPEG2 decoder, either to a copy protect feature of the DVD
